The second regional course will be held in cooperation with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) for UNCTAD member states in the region. This course will address the issue of economic development and how different external and internal factors can contribute to the attainment of national development goals of a country.
The course is delivered by resource persons from UNCTAD, in cooperation with the UNESCWA and national experts from the host country. It is primarily targeted at policy makers from Governments in the region. Academia is also invited to participate in this course, especially university professors who are well placed to use the ideas and materials from the course in their own teaching and hence increase its longer-term impact in their countries.
The course is given in English and will be held at the UN House in Beirut-Lebanon.
